How the National Node Provides Information and Tools to the Public
Although the National Node has been customized to meet federal agency needs, the data and information can be useful to many others besides federal agencies. This is because there are many other stakeholders, including state agencies, local governments, industry and other organizations who are working to help conserve birds, or have a need to comply with bird conservation laws. Additionally, the uses of the tools and information within the National Node are not solely limited to those conducting bird conservation or compliance activities. Even the average citizen or student who wants to know more about birds in a particular area, or what measures they can take or encourage others to take to avoid and minimize impacts to birds, will find interest and utility in the information they find on the National Node website.
